Ten in One Hour (1992-96)
The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, HI

On each glass shelf was a small object, made with grated soap, with various amounts of hair embedded in it. A bare light bulb hung over a wood box containing more soap objects. On the wall was a 1935 photograph of my grandmother, mother and aunts, and a text panel. The title, Ten in One Hour, referred to the rate at which I aspired to produce the soap objects.

Room size: 14'l x 6'w x 10'h.
Grated soap, synthetic hair, glass, shelf brackets, wood, light, photograph, text.
